Beach Pizza, Beach Fries, And Of Course Beach Fried Dough!

Families and friends have been vacationing in Old Orchard Beach since the early 1600’s. Old Orchard was a premier spot for entertainment. With the Casino Ballroom and the Palace Ballroom hosting performances by nationally renowned bands. Today Old Orchard Beach is still a famous hot spot for amusement park rides, restaurants, and of course the beautiful beach.

🍕

It was around 1932 that French Fries were introduced to Old Orchard Beach, Maine. People say you cannot spend a summer in Maine and not have French fries. I think the same goes for pizza at the beach and fried dough at the beach. Lisa’s Pizza located in the heart of the popular strip in Old Orchard Beach originally opened in 1972, thinking they would sell hot dogs and fries. Then in 1974 pizza was added. The pizza dough is fresh home-made. Fresh cut French fries which make a really delicious poutine. Yes, poutine in its original form from the Canadian province of Quebec from back in the 1950’s. Poutine with cheese curds, topped with brown gravy over our fresh cut French fries is a classic you can’t get enough of. Besides French Fries, Pizza, and fried dough many different items have been added to the menu over the years. Of course, some of the other items that have been added over the years includes fresh Maine seafood. Come on by during the spring, the fall and especially during the Maine warm summer months for some great tasting beach food.

🍟

Come for the experience of our beautiful beach, shops, restaurants and of course beach food.

Old Orchard Beach History

Lisa’s Pizza in Old Orchard Beach, Maine sits partway down the hill on the right side of Old Orchard Street. This town got its name from the Thomas Rogers’ family that settled in 1657 but then left an abandoned apple orchard to move to Kittery, Maine. They left after an Indian attack destroyed the homestead. The namesake orchard survived for about 150 years as a beacon of land to sailors in the Atlantic Ocean.

Old Orchard Beach is a popular summer beach destination with the pier and a 7 mile stretch of beach. The downtown is lined with souvenir shops, restaurants, and an amusement park.

Summer fun in Maine!
